The new Black Forest Sundae from Jollibee is best when enjoyed with Peach Mango Pie (I got this idea from FoodTripTayo but sorry I can’t find the exact link for now). This new ice cream variant from Jollibee is a sure hit, after their Rocky Road and Pastillas de Leche flavors. The new sundae, I would say, was patterned after the Rocky Road one, I think they just added a cherry on top and a swirl of cherry syrup. The brownie bites and chocolate syrup is still there, minus the nuts. I actually find it too sweet when eaten alone but the fruity pie compensates the sweetness of the ice cream. It’s definitely a duo!

What’s better to eat on a rainy day than a hot bowl of flavorful porridge? Lugaw, as we simply call it here in the Philippines, is dressed up by putting some toppings and other condiments such as chicken, chopped green onions, and garlic. To achieve the balance of the different spices, it is usually paired with calamansi or vinegar as sawsawan or sauce. This yummy and pinoy style Arroz Caldo is something worth craving for on a rainy afternoon.

familiar? if you’re someone who grew up in the Philippines, and you’re not one of those rich kids who knows only of Hershey’s, Cadbury, and other imported brands…then you should be familiar with this chocolate. the Lala Chocolate, or simply Lala, is one of the many tipid finds in sari-sari stores. When I was a kid, I used to sneak a pack of this sweet treat from our sari-sari store. Some kids in our neighborhood refers to this chocolate as “Adong” (I really don’t know where the name came from). It brings back chilhood memories and I think I am so lucky to find it in grocery stores until now. The packaging is still the same, just a little bit improved (it now has nutritional facts at the back). I think the manufacturers received a high remark for this product so they improved on it and let it stay in the market. Another thing that surprised me about this Lala is the new flavor it has, the Ube Pastillas, a proof that Lala is definitely growing in the market. And luckily, all these years, the same old Lala chocolate taste is still preserved. Taking a bite of this cheap, yet famous, chocolate will bring you back to good old times.

who would have thought that this is just a pack of Tortillos Barbeque flavor? yes, actually it is. i just put it in a saucer, and poured over the mayo-cheese dip that i personally made (no recipes involved). i just came up with this dip through experiment. i mixed Cheese Wiz with mayonaisse, condensed milk (just a left-over in the fridge), and a little bit of hot water. i was supposed to eat this chips on its own when that idea suddenly came up my mind, and i never expected that it will taste that good. yum yum! i liked the cheese flavor mixed with mayo and milk. i can distinctly taste the subtle sweetness of the milk over the cheese and mayo. the consistency of the dip that i made was not that good (it’s kinda’ malabnaw, maybe i put so much water in it) but the taste is definitely something worth craving for. it’s just another home-made, in a snap snack that came to my mind. i think ideas like this pops up when i’m hungry, lolz.

Nestle ice cream’s limited edition is indeed a must-try for ice cram lovers. This Banoffee Surprise Ice Cream is a delectable treat, a mouthwatering dessert turned into cool treat. The tub reads “swirls of banana and dulce de leche ice cream with real banana pieces, chocolate sauce, and layers of graham pie crust”. Yum yum! I personally like the big chunks of graham pie crust in the ice cream, and the medley of that fruity and sweet chocolatey flavors is definitely something unique. Honestly, at first I did not appreciate the banana flavor but as I am eating the ice cream, I enjoyed the blend of two flavors rolled into one. I do hope Nestle compes up with more flavors like this.

Hotdogs is a kid’s treat everybody loves. Usually, it is pan-fried and eaten with rice (baon sa school) or with bread (hotdog sandwich). But we Filipinos also love hotdogs that are barbecued. Hotdogs on sticks and grilled like pork barbecue. I don’t know why, but there’s a distinct taste of hotdog when you grill it. The smokey flavor comes out and it becomes so juicy and tender. I love hotdogs specially this one, the Bibbo Chubbies Cheesedog. The cute cocktail-sized (but chubbier) hotdogs are so good and cheesy. The cheese comes out when you take a bite and it’s really good. Try this one out during camping, parties, or even on simple barbecue time at home. Tip: for extra flavor, brush the hotdogs with a mixture of oil and ketchup while grilling.

Goya is really back on track! Today’s market if full of new and improved Goya chocolate products, some of it are premiums such as this box of Goya Black and White. Along with this sweets are other Goya premium finds like the Dark Mint, Dark with Almond, etc. (I’ll post some links that talks about Goya chocolates), this Goya Black and White is a combination of dark and white chocolates in a box of nine. The mild dark chocolate is better (for me) than a Hershey’s Special Dark and the white ones are so creamy. I so love them both. I think my cravings for Goya will never end ‘coz they have so many variants and I wanna try them all.

I so love dark chocolates!!! I’m drooling over this mildly sweet chocolate, may it be Hershey’s, Meiji, or even Goya Dark Mint. Some would say that dark chocolate is not as pleasureable as milk chocolate because sometimes it gets bittersweet. Actually, that’s what I love about dark chocolates ‘coz I like my chocolate less sweet than the usual. This huge block of Hershey’s Special Dark will last for weeks ‘coz a block or two will be enough for a craving.
